After a very successful Forgotten Women Friday yesterday, when many of us learned much about Irish research, we present the first stories. Already, some trends are emerging. Many of the women died young, often of chest complaints and a significant number emigrated. You can now read about the lives of Hannah Cargin, Margaret Ann Graham, Alice Murray and Margaret Jane Shilliady here. Many thanks to all our wonderful volunteers.

As a bonus, we have also added two more stories of those born in 1819 from our previous Forgotten Women Friday. These stories, of Mary Hales and Elizabeth Sandland, are available here.
