The first stories from Friday's Forgotten Women Friday are now on the website and you can read them here. All these women were born in 1819, the same year as Queen Victoria but had very different experiences. Please meet Mary Chesters, Susannah Metcalf Curl, Caroline Dewey, Jane Hocking, Amelia Jenkins, Ann Smithbone and Sarah Wildblood. We have also received some shorter stories that will be uploaded as a batch later on.

We have created a new category for women who emigrated. This means we need your help. As we upload our stories as pdfs, we cannot search the site for existing stories that mention emigration. We know there are more hidden within the website. We cannot check nearly 400 stories individually. If you are one of our volunteers who has written a story that included emigration, or if you read such a story on the site, please let us know, so that that woman can be added to the appropriate page. Thank you.
