Following team member Helen’s excellent recent presentations about the West of England School for the Deaf to the Society for One-Place Studies and Devon Family History Society, we have added three more stories, by Helen, about former pupils. You can read about Mary Chidley, Selina Collins and Susan Smith here.
We have also uploaded the story of Caroline James, who was researched as part of the Dorchester Prison Forgotten Women Friday.
Don't forget to get in touch if you want to join us for our next collaborative research day on 11 July. By coincidence, two of the above women, Mary and Selina, were believed to have been born in 1819, so qualify for that page too.
