As usual, the Few Forgotten Women Team have provided you with some things to enjoy this International Women's Day. On International Women’s Day we often celebrate the pioneers, the firsts, the women whose names are already carved in stone. But here at Few Forgotten Women, we spend our time with those whose names were pencilled lightly, sometimes almost rubbed away. Margaret's sensitive poem, Written Sideways, is for them. And, says Margaret, 'If I’m honest, for those of us who go looking for them.' It epitomises what we do. Next, there's Whither Thou Goest, a beautifully crafted video story by Ann Simcock about another Ann who followed her husband to war.
There was family stories about Alice and her daughter May, who they married and how Alice died. We offer you a fifteen minute video telling the true story of Alice and May, one which differs from the family accounts. Finally, there is the story of Fanny Thomasine Bishop, who life was marked by tragedy and resilience.
You can access all these goodies here.
