On 8 May we will be holding our twelfth Forgotten Women Friday. There is more information about how these days work at https://www.fewforgottenwomen.com/forgottenwomenfridays.

The data sets that we will be using for this Forgotten Women Friday are the 1881 and 1891 censuses for Brixton Home for Fatherless Girls in Surrey and we will look at some of the ninety one girls and three staff who were resident in 1881 and the 304 girls and nine staff who were there in 1891.

You can find background information and a sample story here www.fewforgottenwomen.com/brixton

The nature of this data set means that some of the girls may be elusive but this makes it all the more important that we tell their stories. Please contact us by email or via the website if you would like to take part and research one of these girls.
